Project Scope: To develop 75 acres and provide temporary housing during the 2010 Olympics for 3500 Olympic and Para Olympic athletes, coaches and Officials with 450 wheel chair accessible beds. The Olympic Village is considered one of Whistler's legacy projects, in that it is used following the Olympics to help house and train Canadian athletes. The site of this athletes' village is in the Cheakamus Valley approximately 20 minutes south of the Whistler Mountain Today, the area is a residential neighbourhood named Cheakamus Crossing, which includes the Whistler Athletes’ Centre.
